I thought I would whip in my blog & do a little blogging before they shut down the computers. I was in the library late lastnight waiting for transit, so I decided to look at a newspaper. Low & behold, there was a story about an 8 year abduction of an Austrian girl, Natascha Kampusch by a guy who called himself 'Wolfgang'. He immediately took action & took his own life for fear of imprisonment. It's a god-send that Natascha made out on her own will & survived 8 years w/a stranger. She must have felt some need for Wolfgang Priklopil since he took care of her since she was a child. This is called 'Stockholm Strategy' which is 'Bonding to one's captor (abuser)...survival strategy' A fund for Natascha has been set up in her name by the Austrians so she can use it for her psychoanalysis that will be carefully observed by Austrian doctors. It was hinted that she may be able to get Wolfgang's inheritance or whatever was in his name, like his house. I believe Natascha deserves a lot more than what she may get! She has been through a hell of an experience & needs a lot of supporters.

I went to my UCFV Orientation yesterday & found it to be very exhilirating! I got my student card ID done & was given a 'luggage tag' for discounts during the sports year. I can't wait to start school & there are a lot of people older than me who will be attending UCFV, which makes me feel a little bit better. They have this awesome computer set-up in their lab & I can't wait to try it out for my own personal use!

My boyfriend & the other Matsqui boys have been in lockdown for a few days, so I haven't been to see him all week & I'm starting to miss him. It's a good thing they can't cancel family visits because I get to visit Joe for 24 hrs starting at 2:30 pm tomorrow. It's going to be wild!

Hi from no man's land! I know it has been a week since I blogged, but I will do my best to be more blog-going. Yesterday, I was supposed to visit my boyfriend in a social but my name wasn't on the list, so I was pretty bummed out. Yes, Matsqui Institution has a social where you can visit w/the other inmates & their visitors. I thought it was pretty interesting! Too bad I have to wait for another month for a social get together. Oh well, I hope Joe had fun!

I read 'Rattlesnake Romeo' by Joy Wellman. It was about the murder of Vicki Lyn Robinson who was a mother of two. Well, the second child was the one who plotted the murder, Valessa Lyn Robinson who was 15 years old at the time. She got into a bad crowd w/drugs & sex. Her boyfriend, Adam 'Rattlesnake' Davis was the one who murdered her mother. Jon Whispel was just a carry on guy who liked to hang around where the drugs were. Adam & Jon were 19 years old at the time. To make it short, Adam Davis got sentenced to death, Jon Whispel got charged w/2nd degree murder for his statements against Adam & Valessa & got 25 years in prison. When Valessa was on trial, so was the way her mother raised her & rave clubs. They had Valessa's diary on the Internet for everybody to see. Actually, just wait! Here we go. Valessa Robinson Diaries There! Just click on that, & you'll get a better look at her diaries. Valessa ended up getting charged w/3rd degree murder & sent to prison for 20 years. Imagine that! She plots her mother's death & she gets the least amount of prison time. Probably because she was only 15 years old at the time. By the time she gets out, she'll be 40 years old & ready for a new life!

I'm moving on w/other news...

What do you think of John Mark Karr, the guy who supposedly killed JonBenet Ramsey? Now, as I go through the web, I find out he won't be charged w/JonBenet's murder because DNA was negative. Why did John Karr confess to the murder? Did he just want media attention? I wish JonBenet Ramsey's killers would get caught & have a hefty sentence on them so JonBenet can Rest In Peace.

Hey everybody...whoever is reading my blog! I was just told that Blogger was supposed to be shut down today, but I guess not. I'm so glad because I just started blogging & I love it!

It took me a day to read Ann Rule's 'Worth More Dead' Vol 10. Now, you're probably thinking 'Does this girl have a life?' In fact, I do! In a few weeks, I will be attending UCFV full time & I can't wait! I haven't been to school for such a long time, I don't know what to buy for school supplies! I'm not that old, though. I'm 27 years old. Anyways, back to Ann Rule. Her book, 'Worth More Dead' was in little booklets & that's why I read it so fast! It was very interesting, especially the title 'Worth More Dead'. It was about a US Marine named Roland Pitre. Now this guy sure knew how to entangle his own family & friends w/theft of property, attempted kidnapping of his stepson & murder! That's outrageous to say the least. Before Roland finally came to justice for these crimes, he was imprisoned for 'Conspiracy to First-Degree Murder' in a totally different circumstance involving his best friend & his ex-mistress. You would think he would be incarcerated for a long period of time, but his ever-so faithful wife from years before, Cheryl Pitre, stuck by Roland & somehow managed to get him paroled early. Now, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't have stuck around somebody who was in for murder. Cheryl must've really have loved him to do that, but years later she would regret it with her life. I really don't want to say anymore as you may have not read this book yet. So, I'll leave it at that. It's a real suspense thriller! I totally recommend it! Nobody in their right mind would want to miss an Ann Rule novel.

Look through my profile & you'll see that I put up a site where you can get deals on true crime novels. I have been collecting over the years, but I seem to lose a few here or there. You know, when you lend it out to your sister? You'll never see it again. So far, I have two true crime books w/me. I have other books up in Williams Lake, where I am originally from. I just moved down to Abbotsford, BC, Canada just a few months ago & I love the big city! Williams Lake is like cowboy country. You've heard of the Williams Lake Stampede, right? I recommend you go up north & try a little 'cowboy country'.

I was in the library the other day looking at the newspapers. In the headlines was Terry Driver aka 'The Abbotsford Killer', who just transferred to Pacific Institution, in Abbotsford, so he can take some programs. Terry Driver is in prison for attempted murder & first-degree murder of a few local girls in 1997. It just makes my skin crawl knowing a murderer is close by. I walk by Pacific Institution daily to visit my boyfriend, Joe, who is in Matsqui Institution for robbery. Yes, that's the main reason why I came down here! Joe & I have been together for like 8 years! I can't just let it go at that. So I decided to move here & get myself an education!

Well, I gotta run & get ready for my visit! Gotta go take a shower & all that!

Today, I was doing a puzzle over a steaming cup of coffee. I was half listening to the radio & I heard about the JonBenet Ramsey killing. They found out who killed her! Or did they? After a near decade, they finally get to close JonBenet's file & she can rest in peace, her soul is now in heaven. Maybe we will find out the real story behind this in a while yet.

I also was in the supermarket getting some groceries. We all got to eat, right? Anyways, you know how they have all those magazines at the end of the aisle when you're in the line up? One magazine piqued my interest. The People magazine. It stated about the Baseline murders in Phoenix. Now, this is the first time I heard about these serial killers only because I don't have a television just yet. I forgot to mention I just moved into an apartment close to where I will be going to University. I'll be taking Applied Business Technology to become a Legal Secretary.

Well, enough said. I guess everybody has heard of Ann Rule! She's one of my favourite authors. I will be reading a true crime novel written by her, one of her books where there is a few stories in it. So, I'll let you all true crime addicts see what you can find or hear about...

True Crime

This is darlamae_. I'm writing this blog for all the true crime fanatics out there. I know there are a lot of people out there who love reading true crime, & not fiction. Lot of people don't understand those of us who can read true crime books because it is not the norm as they think we're demented or something must be wrong with us. Is there really something not right about being a fan of people who commit horrendous crimes? Please give me your feedback on what you would like featured in 'In The Dark Hour of Reality'. I tend to go through the process of also talking about a true crime book I will be reading at the time. I will take excerpts from a book & ask what my readers like to hear.
